1. Hes The Perfect Foil To Deadpool (On The Surface)
Finally, and most importantly, Cable will bring characteristics to Deadpool 2 that make him the antithesis of its protagonist Wade Wilson. While Deadpool is an anarchic madman who only suited-up in the first place to save his girlfriend, Cable is a stern and serious chap who has the fate of the entire world in mind when fighting bad guys. And while Deadpool cracks jokes, Cable tends to stay straight-faced. These differences would allow for a big rivalry between the pair, with Deadpool constantly telling Cable to lighten up, and Cable attempting to make Deadpool see the seriousness of the situation. From this starting point, Deadpool 2 could develop both characters in some interesting ways, by having them learn from each other. And perhaps, over the course of the movie, they could realise that perhaps their differences are only skin deep. Underneath, theyre both guys who grew up without much support from their parents and took to fighting as a coping mechanism. Their personalities are different, but the fundamentals are the same. This sounds like an awesome way to make Deadpool 2 more character-driven. The main course will still be jokes (you couldnt expect anything else from Deadpool), but perhaps character development could be a tasty side dish.
