6. Mister Sinister Appears

The Rumour: With X-Men: Apocalypse's post-credits scene decisively setting up the presence of the Essex Corp. and the villainous Mister Sinister, the character will finally make his on-screen debut in Deadpool 2 after sitting out Logan (which he was originally supposed to cameo in).

The Truth: Though the orphanage where Russell is being housed is called the "Essex House for Mutant Rehabilitation", that's as far as the Mister Sinister references go, and the iconic supervillain doesn't appear in the movie at all (though it did seem like Eddie Marsan might be playing him for a moment there).

With scuttlebutt suggesting that Sinister was set to appear in a scrapped post-credits scene for next year's The New Mutants (played by Jon Hamm no less), it's becoming increasingly less likely with each botched unveiling that we'll ever get the character on-screen in this universe.
