6. Juggernaut
There's an unseen threat lurking in the bowels of a mutant prison for much of the first act of Deadpool 2. Later in the movie, it is revealed that the ominous threat is that of Juggernaut - the mammoth mutant with superhuman strength and unstoppable momentum when he gets moving at full speed.
Fans of the X-Men movie universe will remember Juggernaut from the widely derided X-Men: The Last Stand, in which British hardman Vinnie Jones did a bizarre version of the character, complete with dreadful dialogue and a Cockney accent. That take has wisely been consigned to the vault of cinema history, with the new take on Juggernaut a far more physically imposing and threatening incarnation of the rampaging mutant.
Juggernaut in this movie feels like a genuine physical presence and one who poses a real threat to all of the heroes. He squares off with the equally gargantuan Colossus in a showpiece battle during the third act, providing the character with the enormous face-off that he deserves - without a cringe-worthy Cockney one-liner or awkward CGI effect in sight.
