Deadpool 2: 8 Most Memorable New Characters
4. Peter
One of the strangest and most welcome delights in the marketing for Deadpool 2 was the reveal of Peter, played by comedian Rob Delaney. He's a normal man without any sort of supernatural abilities who answers the newspaper advert looking for extraordinary people to join the X-Force team. He's a good-natured man who wins over Deadpool with his willingness to get involved and soon finds himself as a fully-fledged member of the new team.
Delaney's performance is terrific fun and Peter proves surprisingly able to handle himself when things start to get tough. He's also a perfect fit for the anarchic tone of a movie that takes constant swipes at the very idea of the superhero craze. This is a man who, despite lacking any mutant abilities, proves to be a relatively useful member of a team predicated on super-powers.
It won't be a surprise if Peter is never seen again after the events of Deadpool 2 and, given the bloated feel of the movie, it could have done without him. However, thanks to the offbeat tone of the story and Delaney's terrific performance, he provides a number of the best comedy beats.
