5. It Does Cable Right

Putting the slight concerns about his voice aside, Brolin's Cable looks the absolute business, as we already knew he did. That's probably why he was the lead in the marketing for so long: Fox know they're on to a winner.

And even more importantly, it appears that they're giving him the right sort of framing. Not only is he going to be a legitimate bad-ass with a serious chip on his tech-augmented shoulder and a side of repressed military veteran issues, but he's also - crucially - going to be entirely different to Deadpool.

Cable needs to be the butt of Deadpool's jokes, but he also needs to be cool enough for them not to matter. That was missing from the first film, when he victimised everyone to the point of them being redundant as characters we cared about: in contrast, it looks like Cable is simply not going to take his sh*t. And you should be here for that.
