Deadpool Review: 9 Ups And 7 Downs You Need To Know

3. Missed Opportunities

For all the Fourth Wall-breaking that the movie did, there was a hell of a lot of missed opportunities. They could have really ripped into the continuity spaghetti that perpetuates the X-franchise; where's the mention of Wade's first appearance originally being in the 70s in the Wolverine prequel? Where's the mention of the fact that Colossus is all of a sudden some Russian guy (more in line with the comics, sure), when it used to be Canadian native Daniel Cudmore? If they wanted to, they could have gone to town on the fact that the X-franchise filmmakers tend to play fast and loose with the continuity they themselves established as it suits them.
