Deadpool Review: 9 Ups And 7 Downs You Need To Know

1. A Happy Ending

So Deadpool wins the day. No surprises there. He has to, by virtue of being the star in a comic book movie. But that doesn't mean that he had to beat the bad guy and get the girl. I really thought they were going to go balls-out confidence with the ending and instead of Vanessa be all grateful and 'it's-a-face-I-could-learn-to-love' (in regards to Wade's horrific scarring), she would be horrified with the state of his body and reject him completely. That'd definitely be more in line with the cynical tone of the comic, at least, and not feel so much like it was simply following cinematic convention - something you'd think an anti-establishment character like Deadpool would rail against.
