Deadpool Sequel: 6 Major New Details You Need To Know

4. The Sequel Will Be R-Rated, But Deadpool's Other Appearances Could Be PG-13

Ever since it became clear that Deadpool was going to far exceed box office expectations, all anyone seems to have been able to talk about is what R-Rated comic book movies should follow this one. Those suggesting that everything from Wolverine 3 to the next X-Men movie should be R-Rated seem to be missing the point that what made Deadpool great wasn't swearing and violence; it was the passion of those involved. The success of Deadpool will inevitably have some ramifications though, and while his sequel is most definitely going to be Rated-R, it appears as if the character could be about to enter a PG-13 setting for X-Force. "I could see Deadpool very easily commenting on the fact that, €˜Suddenly I€™m trapped in a PG-13, there€™s certain things I can€™t do around here,'" Reese said of adding him to X-Force. "That could be fun for us. We get to break rules like that. Deadpool knows he€™s in a movie, if he knows he€™s in an R-rated movie and now he€™s in a PG-13-rated movie, he€™s probably gonna be frustrated by that. We would play to that, actually." So, while his involvement in that movie (and its rating) aren't confirmed as of right now, it's clear that Fox are already thinking about how they can add the Merc with the Mouth to their family friendly offerings. X-Force has real blockbuster potential, so making that an R wouldn't be all that smart, but it's exciting to think that the Merc with the Mouth's presence in the X-Men Universe looks set to expand beyond just his sequel...
