Doctor Strange: 25 WTF Moments
20. Another Justin Hammer Reference...
Are Marvel preparing to reintroduce Justin Hammer to the Marvel universe?
The mention of a soldier being injured testing out experimental armour might not be an intentional call-back to Iron Man 2 (unless you choose to ignore the director, like me), but it immediately inspires the image of Justin Hammer, that film's under-appreciated villain.
And this is the second time that's happened this year already in Marvel projects, after his company's cameo in Luke Cage. It's almost like the wannabe-Stark clone is being primed for a return to the MCU... Perhaps in an Iron Man 4 that may or may not be in the pipeline?
But surely not, right? He probably ranks as one of the worst received villains so far, thanks to the overall quality of the film. So isn't bringing him up just inviting the fans to rake over a pretty bad time for Marvel?
