Doctor Strange 3: 10 Characters Who Could Be The Main Villain

1. The Living Tribunal

Doctor Strange Mephisto
Marvel Comics

The Living Tribunal is a safeguard created by God himself to maintain order in the multiverse. If one universe is in jeopardy, the Tribunal will not step in. But if all realities are put at risk, the three-faced entity will reset things, which often results in the destruction of a person, a world, or an entire dimension. Even though such actions make the Tribunal appear callous or evil, he only does what he must to secure the survival of reality.

At the moment, there are three reasons why it would make sense for The Living Tribunal to appear in the Doctor Strange sequel. Firstly, he's already in the MCU! In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, you can see his shrouded visage and golden body in the sequence where Strange travels through dozens of realities.

If you thought that was a mere cameo, there's more to consider. Although The Tribunal has played a part in many classic Marvel stories, he's always had a special connection with the Sorcerer Supreme since he debuted in a Doctor Strange comic.

But that's not all. Reed Richards mentioned in The Multiverse of Madness how universes have already begun destroying each other. He pointed out these Incursions can be tied back to Doctor Strange, who's known for causing destruction in most realities. We already saw this happen in What If...?

If Strange from the MCU's official universe is destined to cause such an Incursion, he's sure to be having a meeting with a very, very tall golden man in the near future.
