Doctor Strange - 6 Major Reveals From The First Official Images

5. The New Sanctum Sanctorum

In the comic books, Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum (located on the corner of Bleecker Street and Fenno Place in the heart of Greenwich Village) has traditionally been portrayed as a very stuffy old building full of dusty books and ancient artefacts. It's pretty much exactly the kind of place you would expect a sorcerer like Stephen Strange to live, but it definitely appears as if Marvel are heading in a slightly different direction. As you can see in the image above, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's take on this iconic location is a lot more modern, and actually much closer to what you might expect a very wealthy former surgeon to call home. Taking a closer look at this image, Strange clearly has his Cloak of Levitation and the Eye of Agamotto on display, along with a number of other mysterious objects which we'll no doubt all be pouring over in much greater detail this time next year. Despite its more contemporary appearance, this Sanctum Sanctorum still feels very Doctor Strange, so it's hard to find fault with the creative decisions made by the studio here.
