3. Mads Mikkelsen Is Indeed The Villain

As expected, Hannibal's Mads Mikkelsen is playing Doctor Strange's big bad, but those of you who automatically assumed that he'll take on the role of Dormammu may want to hold your horses as the description given (you guessed it, Marvel once again refused to name him) sounds closer to a character like Dr Druid or possibly even someone as obscure and unknown as Amergin. They both fit the bill anyway as Feige explains that, "Mads€™ character is a sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect. believes that the Ancient One is just protecting her own power base and that the world may be better off if we were to allow some of these other things through." There's every chance that this could be a slightly different take on Dormammu's origin story, but that villain arguably feels too big for an origin story. Instead, he's someone Marvel could arguably have take the place of Thanos in Phase 4 as they move their focus away from sci-fi threats to mystical ones. Whatever the answer, Stephen Broussard once again dropped a few hints about Mikkelsen's villain being a new creation. "I€™ve seen lots of names thrown around No one has quite picked the name that we€™ve chosen for him. It would be fun to conceal that, if we can..."
