5. Will The Ancient One Be An Enemy To Strange?
The Ancient One made a cameo appearance in Marvel's short-lived X-Statix Presents: Dead Girl series, which centred on the titular hero and her adventures in the afterlife. The tenuous link to Derrickson's own Strange pic here is the fact that during this five-issue run The Ancient One becomes an enemy to Doctor Strange. The details are off the wall - Strange is in hell, the Ancient One has turned evil and sends pain to his former protege in an effort to lure him back - but the fact remains that this situation culminated in Strange having a face off with his former mentor and ended up trapping him in a vial. So, while it's probably likely at the outset that the Ancient One will be an ally to Strange, this is the first of two instances where both mentor and student have gone head to head. There is every chance that in this film or the sequel the two will come to blows.
