Nestled in the Himalayan mountains, only a boulder's roll away from Tibet, this mythical city is your go to locale for magic types. Kamar-Taj is also the Ancient One's hood, the place that he will probably always call home. While it's highly likely director Scott Derrickson will keep his Doctor Strange a tad more on the realistic side, Kevin Feige has let slip that the Ancient One's homeland could well be making an appearance in the movie, where he explained that "Strange leaves New York in search of something and heads east." This indicates that it's highly likely Strange will first meet the Ancient One outside of New York and very possibly in this mystical village.
