Doctor Strange: 8 Things You Need To Know About The Ancient One

1. Orchestrator Of Doom

Like Odin did bringing Loki into the fold, in turn gifting son Thor with his brother to battle with, the Ancient One is also guilty of committing some serious mentor madness by setting Baron Mordo on his path to uber baddie stardom. First appearing in Strange Tales #111 back in the sixties, Mordo started life as a Transylvanian man of stature before bunking with the Ancient One as his protege. The moment a certain Steven Strange came on the scene, though, Mordo was no longer flavour of the month and events soon took place that saw him take a turn for the naughty. Cue Strange's very own nemesis. With Chiwetel Ejiofor already cast as the big bad Baron, expect him to feature in at least one pivotal scene with Cumberbatch and Swinton in what can be presumed as being one serious thespian three way on the big screen.
