Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: 10 Biggest MCU Implications
8. America Chavez/ The Young Avengers
America Chavez has been heavily featured in the marketing and build-up of the movie and indeed does play a major role as a result of her powers.
She was first introduced tagging along with an alternate Dr Strange pursuing the Book of Vishanti. This partnership came to an end when the alternate Dr Strange sought to kill her as he believed that her power was safer with him.
Her entrance into the main MCU led her into contact with mainline Strange and Wong. She understandably expresses distrust over them but over the course of the movie grows to trust them as they oppose Wanda's pursuit.
Whilst she does not have a relationship with Dr Strange in the comics, her interactions here create a great pseudo-protege, which is further built upon when she ends the movie honing her powers under Wong at Kamar-Taj. She seeks to fully hone her powers and hopefully reunite with her parents, who were lost in the multiverse.
Alongside the introduction of Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye Disney+ show and Elijah Bradley in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the hints towards a Young Avengers entry in the MCU are falling into place.
