2. Does Earth-616 Have Its Own Illuminati?
The film reveals the existence of the secret society known as the Illuminati on Earth-838, but does the MCU's Earth-616 also have its own take on the group?
Again, this is really a coinflip - it's fun to consider that such a group exists in the shadows within the MCU's prime universe, quietly enacting judgments in the wings albeit with a different makeup of superheroes.
Yet at the same time, it'd feel rather repetitious to now introduce the Illuminati in earnest so shortly after revealing their alt-universe selves. Basically, if it's going to happen, it probably won't be any time soon.
But the gut feeling on this one is that we won't see them again, that Kevin Feige wanted to give fans a big side order of fan service without having to commit to playing out the entire Illuminati storyline. It'd be great to be wrong, though.
