Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: 10 HUGE Missed Opportunities
7. Not Enough Cameos
As said in the previous entry, the only real surprises and heart-stopping moments this movie could offer came from John Krasinski and Sir Patrick Stewart. These are the characters fans have been waiting for to join the ranks of the MCU, and could potentially have huge implications on the franchise moving forward.
There were also two great appearances by Maria Rambeau’s Captain Marvel and Captain Carter, but with an almost immeasurable roster of superheroes and villains at their disposable, either as Variants or returnees from previous franchises, couldn’t Marvel Studios have come up with more?
There were rumours in the build-up to the movie, though only rumours, that dozens of characters could be rocking up in the multiverse. From Nicholas Cage's Ghost Rider, to Deadpool, a new Wolverine, and more, this movie now feels like it wasted the opportunity to offer so much fan service.
Granted, too heavy a reliance on fan service can negatively affect a movie, however Marvel Studios could have used this to launch so many more branches of the MCU moving forward. Whether bringing in Chris Evans' Human Torch for a chuckle, or introducing the X-Men properly, Marvel Studios could have done so much more here.
