Marvel Studios was recently forced to make some huge alterations to its Phase 4 slate, hence why Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been delayed from its original May 7th, 2021 release date to November 5, 2021. That's frustrating for fans, but based on what we know about the sequel, a post-Halloween debut might actually be a little more fitting!

While Doctor Strange was a hit back in 2016, its inventive visuals only just made up for what proved to be an otherwise standard origin story. Now, though, the signs are all pointing to this follow-up being a game-changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Not only will it introduce a number of big name characters from the comic books, but In The Multiverse of Madness is also set to explore this shared world in a way that's never been done before by taking us to alternate realities, reimagining familiar faces, and delivering some huge surprises.

Now, we're breaking down everything we know about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness by taking a closer look at all the biggest new details. That includes casting rumours, leaked plot points, and plans for a cameo so amazing...well, it might just be the coolest thing Marvel Studios has ever done assuming it ultimately becomes a reality!

10. Loki Will Tie Into The Movie In Some Way

Late last year, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige dropped some intriguing new details about plans for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, including the fact the Loki TV series coming to Disney+ will tie into the movie in some way.

It's already been confirmed that the God of Mischief's TV show will see him travelling through time and to alternate realities, so that makes perfect sense as it could be Strange who is forced to deal with the aftermath of Loki's machinations. Thor: Ragnarok made it clear that the Sorcerer Supreme was all too aware of his existence (and that he was none too impressed), so there's even some history there.

C. Robert Cargill was originally attached to pen the sequel's screenplay, but Marvel Studios later enlisted up-and-coming screenwriter Jade Bartlett (Miller's Girl). Now, though, Michael Waldron is taking a pass at it, and seeing as he's one of the writers on Loki, the connections between the TV show and movie are likely to be significant.
