Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: 10 Major New Details You Need To Know
4. Rachel McAdams Won't Be Back As Night Nurse
Buried in the reports about Scott Derrickson walking away from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was the news that Rachel McAdams will not be reprising the role of Dr. Christine Palmer.
Treated as a typical Marvel movie love interest, she didn't really bring much to the table in 2016's Doctor Strange, but it wasn't totally McAdams' fault. Given a thankless role as the woman who pined after Strange and essentially spent a large chunk of the movie chastising him, it's hard to imagine what, if anything, this sequel could do with her anyway!
That's frustrating as her comic book counterpart is better known as Night Nurse. One of three versions of the character - another appeared in The Defenders on Netflix - she's been a great ally to the Sorcerer Supreme and used her medical prowess to help heroes (and villains) in need to being bandaged up.
On the plus side, it does sound like the sequel is going to have a new love interest and female lead in the form of a hero many fans were furious didn't get a leading role in the first instalment...
