Doctor Strange: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
8. Christine Palmer
So much for Phase 3 solving Marvel's problem with female characters. With Natalie Portman gone and Gwyneth Paltrow probably following her, the days of relegated love interests and women as trophies would surely be over, particularly with Captain Marvel coming, a Female Ancient One and a real life Night Nurse character in Doctor Strange....
Nope.
Rachel McAdams is game enough in the role, but she feels very shoe-horned in to represent the passage of time (specifically the passage of Strange's detachment from his former world). She's also rather unfortunately turned into a love interest for Strange, which would be fine if she stuck to her principles and shunned his passes, but she forgets he's a massive douchebag well before he even has his personal revelation and turns his back on his ego, and falls into his arms.
Quite why she's suddenly be turned on by a narcissitic egotist with a dangerous penchant for thrill-seeking simply because he turned up out of nowhere wearing a cape and phasing out of his physical body remains to be seen. But strange things do turn people on...
