Dream Casting Nic Cage's Tiger King Series

I'm not sure if it was just this viewer, but the video footage of Joe Exotic's second husband for the series and fourth overall, Travis Maldonado, struck an uncanny resemblance to one Zac Efron. There were obviously quite a few different character traits, most notably the 'spaced' out nature of Travis, but in terms of their looks the similarities were striking.

Efron has successfully managed to shake off the High School Musical era with a string of quality performances across a number of genres. His comic timing in the 'Neighbours' movies was top shelf, while he was nothing short of chilling in his portrayal of mass murderer Ted Bundy. Efron would no doubt relish the challenge of bringing Travis' drug dependency to life, and is one actor with the ability to bring some meaning to his character's pointless death.

While it's hard to imagine anyone other than Efron for the role, Robert Pattinson would be a back up option should his Batman schedule being cleared. While there was little evidence of this in the Twilight franchise, Pattinson actually does have genuine acting talent and would make a good fist of bringing some pathos to this tragic character.
