Ed Harris: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

4. Dave Moss - Glengarry Glen Ross

Glengarry Glen Ross

In the much lauded film adaptation of David Mamet's award-winning play, four men wheel and deal for the best €˜leads€™ in a Chicago real-estate agency. Harris€™ Dave Moss is the man who gets the machinery moving in the plot, as he sets about to gain an edge by stealing said leads from the agency. Coercing co-worker George Aaronow, played by a befuddled Alan Arkin, in a superb scene of dialogue and pacing to break into their office. All of the men portrayed believe they have the advantage over their fellow agents, Moss is the one who you believe actually has something over the others: sheer resolve. He€™ll do anything to grab those leads and keep his job. Leaving us to wonder if only he and the others at the agency would put their energy and determination towards other pursuits in life, what they could accomplish together. An actor's showcase, Harris stands shoulder to shoulder with some of Hollywood's most talented leading men and is equal to them.
