Edgar Wright: The Definitive Guide To Homages, Influences And References

Notebook According to the DVD commentary, Angel€™s use of his notebook to record and freak out Martin Blower was inspired by an incident involving Simon Pegg and a friend. When they were stopped for speeding in Pegg€™s formative years, the policeman used his notebook to record everything being said. Much like when Blower yells €˜stop writing€™ and Angel repeats it back to him, Pegg€™s friend asked the policeman to stop writing everything down, only to have his statement parroted back at him. When Danny shows the animation sequence in his notebook, the flipbook€™s pictures were drawn by Oscar Wright, Wright€™s animator brother.
