Assemble! The 8 Best Moments In The Avengers

2. Thor vs Iron Man Captain America

As I€™ve gotten older and more pretentious, I€™ve started to want more than just flat-out action from a film€™s sequences, liking when there€™s a bit of emotional depth to supplement the action. This is an exception. It€™s pretty much just a fannish action-fest and it€™s absolutely gorgeous. It€™s basically just Joss Whedon thinking €œWhat if Iron Man and Captain America fought Thor€ and spinning it off into a spectacle of pretty epic proportions. All three are capable are sustaining severe blows without experiencing serious harm which gives a great amount of scope to the action so that rather than just having them attack each other and miss all the time, it€™s a proper fight sequence. http://youtu.be/79Eig7ZLrO4

1. The Last Battle

If you€™re going to have an action film with an ensemble cast of skilled fighters, then having a expansive battle scene where each of them shows off their skills (however briefly) is pretty much a requirement. Attack Of The Clones pulled this off with the battle in the Geonosian arena, and The Avengers does it magnificently with the sequence above as we see Captain America battling Chitauri ground troops with his trademark shield, Iron Man flying around and gunning down everything in sight, Black Widow hijack a Chitauri chariot using nothing but a knife, Hawkeye expertly taking out Chitauri soldiers from his rooftop vantage point, and Thor and the Incredible Hulk fighting on top of a Chitauri battleship Every Avenger gets their moment to shine, and that€™s what the film is all about. Six extraordinary people joining together to battle the forces of darkness. As well as embodying the entire concept of the film in ninety four seconds, it€™s a beautifully constructed sequence with exceptionally striking visuals, and the closing moment that sees the Hulk casually punch Thor after they down the battleship is the cherry on the cake. http://youtu.be/WzVvzbwBjfw Think I€™m wrong or have missed something out, leave a comment...
