6. What Is Pip & Eros' Story?
It had been rumoured before the release of the movie, but now it’s official. Harry Styles has joined the MCU, and he is playing Thanos’ brother and cosmic Eternal, Eros. Joining him as something of his travelling companion and hype man was Pip the Troll.
Immediately this raises questions about Thanos’ family, and other Eternals throughout the universe, but what of these two characters? Who are they, and how could they impact the MCU and the Eternals franchises moving forward? Possibly most interestingly at this point is how exactly this pairing came together.
Like Rocket and Groot before them, Pip and Eros have been introduced to the MCU as a duo, already with a pre-established relationship, begging the question, how did they come together, and how did their journey lead to the Domo?
They are quite the odd couple in the MCU, as one is an incredibly powerful being and brother of Thanos, while the other is a drunken troll who likes to smoke cigars. As with any new characters in the franchise, the space travelling partners bring with them the potential and promise of more wonderful stories, hopefully including their backstory as a team.
