12. Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave And The Bold

There's a strange tendency in animation to smash Scooby Doo together with other properties, which has led to the famous Great Dane meeting actual WWE stars in the last few years. This year, he met up with Batman and the result is predictably daft, which makes it stand out from several of the recent Warner Bros Animations that have sought to be a little too dark and edgy for their own good.

It was never going to win any Oscars and it's not the most story-driven of experiences, but that's not really the point here. The point is to be entertained by the idea of Batman and the Mystery Gang's worlds colliding and there's more than enough self-awareness in here to warrant a look. Yes, it's goofy, but that's not always a problem.

11. The Death Of Superman

In a bumper year for animated releases, The Death of Superman hit digital streaming services to slightly more muted hype than previous releases like The Killing Joke, but it's enough of a great source story to have pricked up a fair number of ears.

The original 1992-1993 comic is one of the most iconic stories in the Man of Steel's history and while it's been fudged before in partial adaptation (aherm, Mr. Snyder), there's enough to warrant a new adaptation. This is a little bit of a mixed bag, but it definitely didn't enough to justify its own existence.
