Every 2018 Comic Book Movie Ranked Worst To Best

7. Ant-Man & The Wasp

Ant-Man and the Wasp had the unenviable task of following two of the MCU's biggest and most acclaimed movies to date, so it's no surprise that it felt more like an afterthought.

Set just prior to the events of Avengers: Infinity War, it's focused on telling a much smaller scale story, as Scott Lang returns to action as Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne becomes the Wasp, as promised by the post-credits stinger of the first movie. It's a film with a lot of moving parts, as Scott, Hope, and Hank Pym attempt to recover Janet from the Quantum Realm, while their lab and tech is under threat from a couple of different villains, and there's the blossoming romance between its titular heroes.

It's never able to fully balance them, and it does suffer as a result of feeling inconsequential next to Black Panther and Infinity War. However, there's some nice chemistry between Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily, a few of the action scenes that made the first so fun, some solid jokes, and Rudd continues to be the best human alive (and has *those* abs), which alone makes it worth watching.
