Every 2018 Oscar Nominee Ranked From Worst To Best

8. Get Out

Nominations: 4 - Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Daniel Kaluuya), Best Original Screenplay

Get Out is another movie that, despite its overwhelming critical acclaim, could so easily have been passed over entirely by the Academy, considering how rarely they reward the horror genre with, well, anything.

Jordan Peele's horror-satire functions superbly as both an intensely creepy genre film and a more pointed dressing-down of liberal racism, taking aim at an enemy hidden in plain sight rather than the broader racist stereotypes that are more commonplace.

Daniel Kaluuya graduates to the A-list with a terrific central performance in a disturbing, hilarious and timely film that earmarks Peele as one hell of a director to watch.
