Nominations: 1 - Best Supporting Actor (The Florida Project)

It's absolutely ridiculous that a film of The Florida Project's filmmaking craft scored only one Oscar nomination, given that it clearly should've also received at least Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay nods too.

A startlingly grounded slice-of-life drama starring some of the most stunningly authentic child actors you could ever hope to witness, the latest drama from Sean Baker (Tangerine) is a poignant, heartbreaking and unforgettable film.

Willem Dafoe brings plenty of gravitas to the role of the kindly motel manager Bobby, and though the film's final moments won't click with everyone, it's hard to argue with its emotional and dramatic authenticity otherwise.

The Academy failed this movie so, so hard.
