Every Adam Sandler Movie Ranked By How Punchable Adam Sandler Is
18. The Longest Yard
Once again trying to make Adam Sandler look like a well-adjusted human by surrounding him with as many eccentric and bizarre characters as possible, The Longest Yard remake may not necessarily improve on Robert Aldrich's spectacular original, but it does exceed in one area: Making Adam Sandler seem (somewhat) mature.
This deflated remake does have a secret touch of real, human drama nestled beneath the dog-pile of obscenities and over-the-top physicality. But let's be honest, it's probably Burt Reynolds' involvement that actually makes this worth watching. Well, that and the eagerness of all the real, professional athletes that were cast to play cons.
Sandler's involvement doesn't do anything to elevate the script, nor does it really hurt the film. He's just sort of...there.
Punch Level: A couple of rabbit punches to the kidneys just to take him out of commission and let Burt step back into the main spotlight.
