Every Adam Sandler Movie Ranked Worst To Best
23. You Don't Mess With The Zohan (2008)
In one of his many collaborations with director Dennis Dugan, who peaked with their first two outings before falling dramatically downward, Sandler wrote and starred in one of his strangest and most over-the-top movies.
You Don't Mess with the Zohan follows an Israeli soldier who fakes his death so he can become a hairdresser, and, as you'd expect, finds Sandler going all-out in a role that's simultaneously vulgar, senseless and entertainingly bizarre.
The film means well as an exploration of Israeli-Palestinian relations, though it's as ever dampened by repetition and tired racial tropes. Still, you'll be hard-pressed to find Sandler swinging for the fences so excitedly. It works because he believes it.
