Every Adam Sandler Movie Ranked Worst To Best
15. The Waterboy (1996)
Adam Sandler had a string of hits in the mid-to-late 90s, the biggest of which was The Waterboy, an hysterical sports comedy that officially launched the Sandman to superstardom.
As Bobby Boucher, the waterboy for a struggling football team, Sandler is honestly at the most Sandler he's ever been -- loud, well-meaning, immature, characterised by his dim-wittedness and his grating accent, more than meets the eye -- and whilst it's all a bit much, Sandler's commitment is seriously endearing.
In many ways, every ridiculous, madcap comedy that has followed has been chasing The Waterboy. Some have surpassed it, but there'll always be something really special about the actor's biggest commercial hit and how he let himself go to pull it off.
