Every American Pie Movie Ranked Worst To Best
5. American Pie Presents: Beta House
Beta House only edges Naked Mile out by a millimetre, as it still suffers from most of the previous instalments biggest problems. However, there are a few extra points of creativity that bring it up a touch. It was the first spin-off movie to act as a direct sequel to its predecessor and would go on to be the only one.
After the events of The Naked Mile, Erik moves to college with his friend Cooze and pledges himself to the Beta House fraternity, led by Dwight Stifler. Here, they embark on a rivalry with Geek House, a fraternity of wealthy students intent on shutting Beta down.
Its biggest redeeming feature - if you can call it that - is how cliched the plot is. While that would be problematic for many other franchises, it works here as the focus on fraternity warfare gives the film a regardless vibe when it comes to crafting a narrative.
Beta House is the spin-off film that seemed to understand it would never rival the original series, so chucked a bunch of ridiculous things your way instead. While a lot of the humour is incredibly stale, it does have some funny set-ups like sheep fetish, a solid Deer Hunter parody and Mr Levenstein returning again.
