Every American Pie Movie Ranked Worst To Best

When it came to making a third movie, it seemed a little unclear where the series could go. The actors were still young enough to feel youthful but weren't quite suited for college. Clearly, things had to change, but jumping straight into a marriage between the two leading characters was one hell of a leap. It did work in some ways, but not in others.

American Wedding followed Jim and Michelle as they prepared to be locked into holy matrimony, accompanied by Jim's old high-school friends - bar one. It also had a significant focus on Stifler as his outrageous behaviour once again proved problematic.

However, there were two major problem's that brought the film down. Firstly, with the story so centred on Jim/Michelle and Stifler, it felt a lot less like a full ensemble movie, which was disappointing. Secondly, there were major losses to the cast, including; Nadia, Sherman, Vicky, Heather, and Oz. These characters were vital to the series' spirit, so losing them made it feel a little hollow.

Despite these issues, the central figures of Jim and Michelle were entertaining as ever - as was Stifler - so it easily ranks above the spin-offs.
