Every American Pie Movie Ranked Worst To Best

It's strange to think how this film kicked off a cinematic movement, with subsequent movies attempting to cash in on the juvenile sex-filled humour is created. At the same time, there was a reason for it, as the first American Pie movie was an excellent example of how to make raunchy sex comedies work.

The plot for this one was simple, which is likely what helped it to attain such success. It focussed on a charming group of young high-school students who made a pact with each other to lose their virginity by prom night.

While the gross humour - such as Stifler drinking a tainted beer and the infamous pie sex scene - was a big attention grabber, the film worked because of how likeable and relatable the main cast was. Jim was a perfect loser, the others had a reasonable amount of quirks, and everyone knew someone like Stifler. This helped to give the movie a little substance to go with the grotesque comedy.

It's a great flick that plays to the crudeness of the characters, the awkwardness of young adult life and acts as a great time capsule for the late 90s/early 2000s, with red cups and Sum 41 galore.
