Every Avenger's Best Performance OUTSIDE The MCU
3. Chadwick Boseman - Marshall
Let's take a moment to acknowledge once again, the great sadness that was the passing of Chadwick Boseman.
Not only was he a beloved part of the MCU, but he was also a husband, a son and a friend. His public persona made him an inspiration to millions of young fans (MCU or not), and when you re-watch his performance as the Black Panther, he was arguably one of the best actors in the entire series.
And his talent didn't stop in the MCU. Before we saw him as T'Challa, he was playing roles as equally iconic such as Baseball player Jackie Robinson in 42, and music legend James Brown in Get On Up. His range was already something to watch out for, and his post-MCU debut days were just as entertaining.
In a toss-up between Message From The King and Marshall, I'm going to have to go with Marshall as his best performance outside of the MCU. The film follows a young (not yet Justice to the Supreme Court) Thurgood Marshall as he defends a black man accused of rape. Boseman's performance is captivating throughout, and a real indication of the talent the man possessed.
