After the success of the 1966 tv series, Batman, 20th Century Fox churned out a film adaptation that same year.

And if you thought the show was hammy, Batman: The Movie is the full pig. In fact, most of the iconic Batman memes from the 1960s like the shark repellent and the line, "Sometimes, you just can't get rid of a bomb" stem from this film, not the tv series

Even though you would assume the ending would be just as absurd as everything else (and it is), it's also surprisingly poignant. After Joker, Penguin, Riddler, and Catwoman, turn the UN Security Council to dust (it made sense back then), Batman uses a formula to return them to normal.

Due to a mix up, each world leader's personality is transported into a body that's not their own. Instead of immediately correcting the error, the world's greatest detective leaves the building, believing the body-swap will help the world leaders have a deeper understanding of one another's culture. The final message is very ham-fisted but it's surprising that such a silly film ends on such an uplifting note.
