Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has proven to be among the most divisive films in recent memory. But whether you regard Zack Snyder's crossover as a misaligned mess or a masterpiece, the showdown is a delight for any comic reader. Not only do we see the Last Son of Krypton battle the Gotham knight, we got to watch DC's trinity, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman face off against one of comic's most infamous villains, Doomsday. With Snyder's flamboyant visuals and dynamic style, this finale really felt like a comic book brought to life.

Considering the film concludes with Superman sacrificing himself and Batman preparing to set up the Justice League, it sounded like BVS's final half-hour was a dream come true for fans.

However, the ending is hampered by some small but unmistakable flaws. Doomsday's design is surprisingly bland. The "Martha" revelation is silly. Jesse Eisenberg's eccentric performance as Lex Luthor is irritating.

Also, Superman's sacrifice doesn't have the effect that the filmmakers were hoping for since we didn't believe the Man of Steel was really gone for a second. When the dirt rises from his coffin in the final frame, it proved Supes' death was temporary, deflating all emotional impact.
