Every Batman Movie Villain - Ranked From Worst To Best

12. Talia Al Ghul (The Dark Knight Rises)

The bait-and-switch method isn€™t always the best way to create entertaining villains, and Marion Cotillard€™s character in The Dark Knight Rises suffers from this exact problem. As Miranda Tate €“ the morally ambiguous Wayne Enterprises board member €“ Cotillard was an interesting enough side character. But when she was revealed to be Talia al Ghul €“ heir to the demon and daughter of Liam Neeson's character from Batman Begins €“ the whole film fell a little flat. At this stage in the movie, what difference does it make? Certainly, that late-in-the-day switcheroo didn€™t give Cotillard much to work with. All she really got to do was stab Bruce Wayne, explain her backstory and reveal her evil plan. Cotillard fared well enough in that scene, but this simply isn€™t enough to elevate Talia to the upper echelons of this list.
