Every Ben Affleck Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
44. The Third Wheel (2002)
Desperately sold as "from the producers of American Pie," this aggressively early-2000s rom-com stars Luke Wilson as a shy young man who, when taking the object of his affection (Denise Richards) out on a date, hits a homeless man (Jay Lacopo) with a car.
It's a razor-thin premise and so The Third Wheel at least gets some begrudging points for being just 83 minutes long, yet despite its inherent weirdness this feels more like a short film or skit than a concept worthy of feature-length treatment.
This is one of those movies that was almost certainly a lot of fun to make, but that fun only sometimes transpires through to the audience. Affleck's supporting role as Wilson's pal is pretty amusing, though.
