Every Ben Affleck Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
30. The Sum Of All Fears (2002)
The Sum of All Fears retains a lot of goodwill for having the balls to detonate a nuclear weapon on American soil and kill off a couple thousand people, yet it can't be denied that as Jack Ryan movies go, it's a pretty soft touch.
A big part of the problem is that Affleck doesn't make for a particularly compelling Ryan - especially compared to predecessors Harrison Ford and Alec Baldwin - even if the geopolitical jostling remains fairly current 20 years on, and it's enjoyable three-star froth for the most part.
There have been better Jack Ryan movies, but worse ones too (looking at you, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit).
