Every Ben Affleck Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
26. The Tender Bar (2021)
George Clooney's latest film is a sweet little coming-of-age drama set in the 1970s as young JR Maguire (Tye Sheridan) dreams of becoming a writer while bonding with his irreverent uncle Charlie (Ben Affleck).
Though the movie as a whole received mixed reviews, Affleck's performance was soundly praised, to the extent that he received well-earned Best Supporting Actor nominations from both the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild.
While a fairly typical, unassuming character piece, there's an appealingly laid-back quality to the movie, which is powered at almost all times by the thoroughly entertaining energy of Affleck and Sheridan's dynamic.
Not a great film, but a warm cinematic cup of cocoa if there ever was one in Affleck's filmography.
