62. Mutiny On The Bounty (1935)

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest
MGM

Frank Lloyd strikes again, this time directing a too-rigid but great fun adaptation of the 1932 novel Mutiny on the Bounty, an early pioneer of the seafaring adventure genre.

With brutal action and impressive set pieces, the film particularly soars with the work of Clark Gable and Charles Laughton, who play two men vying for control of the eponymous vessel. Sure, it's a touch too stiff in parts, and its notable for its historical inaccuracies, but as bit of seafaring action, there are few classics better.
