60. Forrest Gump (1994)
This polarising Robert Zemeckis drama about a simple man with a big heart who keeps unknowingly getting involved in some of modern history's biggest moments is a naïve but well-meaning assessment of post-WWII life in America.
Tom Hanks effortlessly embodies Forrest Gump, warts and all, in one of his most beloved performances, whilst Zemeckis does everything in his power to make his film as crowd-pleasing and in-your-face fun as possible. It gets the job done, and even if you're not a fan of its forced sentimentality, you can't deny its lasting effect.
