Every Bond Movie Theme Song Ranked Worst To Best
12. Another Way To Die (Quantum Of Solace)- Jack White + Alicia Keys
The second Bond theme for the Daniel Craig era suffered from many of the same issues of its predecessor, while still remaining quite catchy. In fairness to the singer-songwriting combo of Jack White and Alicia Keys, trying to squeeze the convoluted title of the film into the lyrics was probably not worth the effort. The number does sound more like a Bond song than the Chris Cornell effort, with riffs echoing the Bond theme and the chants of "bang, bang" in the background entrenching the audience inside the 007 world more than the film ever does.
The strongest aspect of the song is its quick slam poetry style lyrics that actually give hints as to what is to come in the film. The best example of this is in the chorus line- "Someone that you think that you can trust, is just, Another way to die"- a nice link to the potential double crossing Bond encounters in the film.
The reason this song didn't have the impact that the well thought out lyrics deserves, is the fact that the vocals seem to be sung a little off key. While not as noticeable in the verses, it seems quite noticeable in the chorus, with the combo of White and Keys failing badly.
