Every Bond Movie Theme Song Ranked Worst To Best

9. Die Another Day By Madonna

After a number of very stale and repetitive Bond tunes peppering our ears throughout the 80's and 90's, the choice of legendary pop icon Madonna as the singer-songwriter for the first Bond theme of the new millennium was a daring but welcome decision.

Madonna brought her customary dance track dynamics to the song with the use of electronic loops bringing a very unique feel to a 007 number. The fusion of these Madonna traits with the customary string sections synonymous with the franchise's songs made this track a top edition.

What makes this song really work in the movie is the way it adds to the story being told throughout the opening credits. The conclusion of the pre credit scene sees Brosnan's Bond captured by the North Koreans, before he is put through a variety of brutal torture techniques throughout the title sequence.

The only hope that we are given is Madonna's vocals, urging Bond to push through the pain and "die another day". It is a brilliantly edited sequence that makes the title song one of the most impactful of any 007 theme that have come before or since.

While he likes to know himself as the 'thunder from down under', Luke is actually just a big dork who loves all things sport, film, James Bond, Doctor Who and Karaoke. With all the suave and sophistication of any Aussie half way through a slab, Luke will critique every minute detail of films and shows from all eras- unless it's 1990's Simpsons episodes, because they're just perfect
