Every Bond Movie Theme Song Ranked Worst To Best
7. You Only Live Twice By Nancy Sinatra
One of the truly underrated female artists of the 60's was Frank Sinatra's daughter, Nancy. Her biggest hit was the extremely popular These Boots are Made for Walking, and for many this is the only song she is known for. While this was a catchy feminist anthem, it was also quite lightweight and not indicative of her qualities as a singer. Her talents as a female musician was most notable in the heart wrenching Bang Bang, since popularised by Tarantino, and also in her beautiful delivery of the 5th Bond anthem.
Sinatra sings the tune with an angelic presence while also displaying great emotional depth, which is no small feat. The oriental chimes play throughout and give a unique feel that befits the narrative and the themes of the opening sequence, in which James Bond 'dies', while also matching the tone and feel of the film.
The movie itself was considered another strong Bond entry without hitting the heights of the previous entries in the franchise. The title song though very much lived up to the high standards set by the Bassey and Jones hits, with the Crooner's daughter further cementing her place as a star talent of her own.
