Every Bond Movie Theme Song Ranked Worst To Best

6. Nobody Does It Better (The Spy Who Loved Me) By Carly Simon

The love song is one that has been trialled repeatedly for Bond anthems, and while there has been some minor hits, generally this tack hasn't worked too well. Carly Simon's 1977 hit proves how to do a love song for a 007 film perfectly, with a vocal performance that synchs beautifully with the floaty tune.

Before taking up the reins as Bond songstress, Simon was best known for the massive worldwide hit You're so Vain, which was as talked about for its controversial subject matter as much as the quality of the song. But there is no doubt what is being talked about here, Simon nailing all aspects of the song, from the soft alluring verses to the powerful outpouring of emotion in the chorus.

The song was befitting of a welcome and overdue return to form for the Bond franchise, with The Spy Who Loved Me clearly the best of the Roger Moore flicks. Moore's more mature and toned down performance, combined with a clever script that mixes camp fun with suspense and romance were the foundations of the film's success. But there is no doubting that Carly Simon's beautiful number was also a big factor. On top of this, Simon cemented herself as a genuine talent who could sing about more than obnoxiously vain men.
