Every Bond Movie Theme Song Ranked Worst To Best

20. The Living Daylights By A-Ha

It is rather hard to believe that the job of singing the most iconic and highly anticipated song could fall into the hands of Norwegian one hit wonder A-Ha. (And no, this was not the hit, instead that was the overrated Take on Me.) Considering the star studded list of names who had sung the Bond theme previously, it said a lot about the sorry state of 007 films at the time of production that A-Ha was the best the producers could conjure.

The song falls more into the forgettable category rather than out and out terrible, with a decent but familiar tune and some nice vocal work in the verses. Sadly, the chorus really lets itself down, a chanting of the films title over and over again sounding somewhat out of tune and feeling very much by the numbers.

The song may have worked better with a powerful female voice, and may have been a better use of Gladys Knight than the shocker she was served up. Instead we are left with a very bland song that does at least fit in with the film's equally forgettable nature.

While he likes to know himself as the 'thunder from down under', Luke is actually just a big dork who loves all things sport, film, James Bond, Doctor Who and Karaoke. With all the suave and sophistication of any Aussie half way through a slab, Luke will critique every minute detail of films and shows from all eras- unless it's 1990's Simpsons episodes, because they're just perfect
